JITTERS: CORPSE DUMPED IN DRAINAGE IN NNEWI

A lifeless body of a young man in his 40s has been found in a drainage opposite Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Umudimkwa-Umudim, Nnewi Unit Command office.

Radio Nigeria observed there were visible bullet wounds all over the corpse.

Some eyewitnesses told Radio Nigeria that the discovery of the lifeless young man alarmed residents of the area.

According to the eyewitnesses, who pleaded anonymity, the man might have been killed and dumped by unknown persons in the drainage with the aim that that flood water to wash away his body.

Most of the eyewitnesses called on relevant authorities to look into the insecurity situation in the State.

However, some youths in the area mobilised some local security personnel to evacuate the corpse to a mortuary as they had reported the matter to the police.

When contacted, both the police and FRSC in the state claimed they had no information on the development.
