REPORTER: CHUKWUKA AGUKWE

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, says his administration is collaborating with the private sector to safeguard the state environment and introduce green energy.

He made this known after signing an agreement with a German company in Owerri through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement to take care of the waste management in the state.

Senator Uzodimma recalled that in 2018 the state House of Assembly passed a law on Public Private Partnership Law No 11 to enable government fund, operate and manage public assests for optimum value and utilization of the society.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the signing of the agreement, which contains operating law and legal framework, was witnessed by both Commissioner for Environment and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General.
