Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the NYSC in the state to ensure that it performed its responsibilities creditably without hindrance.

The Governor represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Chief Nwaobilor Ananaba, urged corps members to translate the trainings, knowledge and skills they had acquired during the Orientation course into qualitative service to their host communities and places of primary assignment

He charged them to eschew all forms of fear of the unknown, and prejudices, but to move into their host communities with love, determination and open minds in order to make great and positive impacts on the lives of the people.

Governor Otti commended the management of the scheme for their efforts and commitment in moulding the youth towards becoming self-reliant through their Skills Acquisition programmes, free medical outreaches and community development services.

Earlier in a remark, the state Coordinator NYSC Abia State, Mrs.Gladys Adama, said the corps members had undergone series of trainings and lectures during the Orientation course, which were meant to motivate as well as challenge them towards the demands of national development.

She appealed to various Local Government Councils in the state to upgrade the Corps members’ lodges in order to accommodate the ever increasing number of youth corps members been posted to them.
