
EBONYI: KIDNAPPED PRIEST, THREE OTHERS REGAIN FREEDOM

The kidnapped Parish Priest of Saint Charles Catholic Church Mgbalaeze Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, the Reverend Father Joseph Azubuike, has been freed.
A statement by the the Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, the Reverend Father Uzoma Opoke, explained that the kidnapped priest was released alongside three others.
Though the diocese did not go into details on how the kidnapped victims secured their freedom, it appreciated Governor Francis Nwifuru, security agencies and youths of Isu for ensuring that they were freed.
An earlier statement by the diocese had explained that the Parish Priest was kidnapped while returning to his parsonage from a duty.
