VICTOR NDUKWE EMERGES NUJ CHAIRMAN, ABIA STATE COUNCIL

Mr. Victor Ndukwe of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia (BCA) has emerged the new Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Abia State Council.

In the election conducted at the NUJ Secretariat in Umuahia, Mr. Ndukwe polled a total of fifty-five votes to beat his opponent, Mr. Boniface Okoro, of the Correspondents Chapel, who secured twenty-nine votes.

In his inaugural speech, the new chairman, Mr. Ndukwe, assured that he would do all within his ability to ensure that the welfare of the journalists in the state were adequately taken care of by his administration.

He called on all to join hands with his executive towards moving the council to a greater heights.

The Assistant National Secretary NUJ, Mr. Akorede Opeyemi, urged them to see the election as a brotherly game where there was no Victor no vanquished.
