ABIA STATE GOVT RESOLVES TUSSLE FOR EZE ARO, GIVES STAFF OF OFFICE TO EZE OJI

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has presented Staff of Office to the newly selected Eze Aro ix (the ninth), Eze Eberechukwu Oji.

The presentation of the staff of office came shortly after the state government released a White Paper on the report of the Board of Inquiry into Allegations of Misconduct against Eze Kanu Nwa Kanu Okereke of Ibom Isii in Arochukwu Kingdom, Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state.

Presenting the staff of office to the traditional ruler at the headquarters of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,
Governor Otti represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu advised the Eze Aro to ensure peace, unity, law and order among his people.

The Governor reiterated that government had no hands in the selection process of the new Eze Aro but only followed the constitution in respect to the autonomous communities in the state.

He urged the people of Arochukwu to embrace peace in the overall interest of their kingdom and congratulated the Eze Aro.

Responding, the Eze Aro, Eze Eberechukwu Oji, expressed his appreciation to the Governor for his tireless effort in resolving the Chieftainship tussle in Arochukwu and pledged to run a peaceful, inclusive and righteous rulership in his kingdom.

Recall that Board of enquiry into the tussle for the traditional stool of Aro kingdom, which was inaugurated on the November 16, 2023, submitted its report to Abia State Government on January 8, 2024.
