SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS GOV. DARIUS ISHAKUS ELECTION

Darius Ishaku has been upheld as the governor of Taraba State, in a Supreme Court decision, affirming an earlier decision of the Court of Appeal.

The petition filed by the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, Aisha Jummai Alhassan was dismissed by the apex court.

Justice Bode-Rhodes Vivour delivered the lead Judgment and held that the appeal lacked merit and substance, and was subsequently dismissed.

The apex court, also upheld the verdict of the court of appeal which had earlier dismissed the appeal of the APC on the grounds that the APC and its candidate, cannot question the nomination of governor Darius of the PDP.

The court would give its reasons on February the 22nd.
