APC REJECTS ABIA LG POLLS RESULT, ALLEGES IRREGULARITIES

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State says it has rejected the outcome of the just concluded local government election in the state.

The Chairman of the party, Chief Donatus Nwankpa, stated this while addressing journalists at the party’s Secretariat in Umuahia.

He noted that the party would reject any results Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) would turn in due to alleged irregularities, absense of voting materials and manipulation of figures that characterized the election in the state.

According to the APC chairman election did not take place in many local government area polling units in the state.

He accused Professor Mkpa Agu Mkpa led ABSIEC of not having the capacity to conduct a free, fair and credible election.

The APC Chairman, while urging the party supporters and faithful to remain calm, noted that APC would challenge the outcome of the election legally.
