PDP SOUTHEAST STRATEGISE TO WIN ANAMBRA GUBER ELECTION

As political parties continue to strategize ahead of the November 2021 Anambra State governorship election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), says efforts are on to reconcile aggrieved members to ensure unity of purpose.

To this end the Southeast National Chairman of the party, Mr. Ali Odefa, has urged all party members to sheath their swords and use their resources to develop the party.

Mr. Odefa made the call while addressing journalists at the end of the party’s closed door Zonal Executive Committee Meeting, and the Anambra State PDP Stakeholders Meeting at Government House, Enugu.

Mr. Odefa announced that amongst the resolutions made at the forum was the election for southeast congress of the party.

According to Mr. Odefa, the congress is scheduled for Saturday March 6, 2021 at Michael Okpara Square Enugu, where some aspirants will emerge consensus in the zonal positions.

The PDP National Vice Chairman, who noted that issues of Anambra State EXCO of the party was not on the agenda of the gathering, emphasized that the PDP in the southeast was currently putting its house in order to enable them produce the next governor of the Anambra State after sixteen years.

Key PDP stakeholders, including the leader of the party in the southeast zone and Governor of Enugu State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State; Senator Sam Egwu; former Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi; Senator Uche Ekwunife; former PDP spokesman, Mr. Olisa Metu; former Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha and Chief Chris Uba attended the event.
