POLICE & VIGILANCE GROUP RESCUE FOUR KIDNAPPED PERSONS IN EBONYI

Police in Ebonyi State have rescued four persons, including a Village Head, who were abducted by gunmen dressed in military camouflage in Oshiagu Amia Ngbo in Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mrs. Loveth Oda, explained that police operatives aided by local vigilance group rescued the victims from a compound belonging to one man popularly called Small.

She stated that the suspect and his gang members on sighting security operatives abandoned their victims and fled the scene.

Mrs. Oda frowned on the failure of members of the community to report the matter to the police, pointing out that the victims would be interviewed to enable the command to ascertain the motive behind their abduction.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the abductors, who invaded the community with motorcycles and took their victims away amid sporadic guns after which their victims were rescued.
