The National Population Commission (NPC) says it has so far carried out Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) in five hundred and forty-four Local Government Areas across the country preparatory for the National census.

The Federal Commissioner in-charge of National Population Commission in Ebonyi State, Chief Darlington Okereke, stated this while briefing journalists on the commencement of EAD phase 14 in Izzi Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Okereke explained that eighty-five Local Government Areas across thirty-five states, excluding Bayelsa and Federal Capital Territory, had been selected for demarcation in the 14th phase of the exercise.

Chief Okereke pointed out that the Commission was collaborating with government at all levels to ensure that the rising insecurity in some parts of the country did not impede the progress of the exercise.
