GOV UZODIMMA DISSOLVES IMO STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

Imo State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, has dissolved the state executive council.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Declan Emelumba, announced this while briefing journalists at the end of a state executive council meeting in Government House Owerri.

He however explained that eight commissioners were retained for continuity while twenty others were relieved of their duties.

Chief Emelumba said the dissolution was necessary to enable the Governor to re-jig his cabinet after spending one year in office.

Chief Emelumba said the Governor, while thanking the sacked commissioners for their contributions towards the success of his administration, noted that the cabinet would be reconstituted soon.

The commissioners that are not affected by the dissolution include that of Health, Works, Information, Women Affairs, Finance, Tourism, Youths and Sports Development as well as Commissioner for Technology.
