MUSLIM COMMUNITIES PAY GOV OTTI SALLAH VISIT, DEMAND INCLUSIVE GOVERNMENT

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has urged Muslims in the state to remain faithful and continue to uphold the leadership of the state in prayers.

Governor Otti gave the advice while receiving in audience a delegation of the Abia State Muslim Council, who came to pay him the traditional Sallah homage to mark Eid el Kabir at the Government House, Umuahia.

The Governor, who was represented by the, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, said there was need for prayers to assist the administration to ensure conducive environment for the residents to thrive.

While felicitating the Muslims on the Eid el Kabir celebration, Dr. Otti said this year’s Eid el Kabir celebration was remarkable for the state as it was the first in the life of his administration.

He used the opportunity to thank the Muslim community in this State for their immense support that brought him into office.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation and Chief Iman of Abia State, Alhaji Aliyu Ukiwo, said they came to celebrate with the government as Muslims all over the world were celebrating Eid el Kabir.

The Chief Imam appealed to the Governor to included them in the scheme of things in his administration and pledged that they would continue to pray for the Governor to succeed.

The visit, which had in attendance all the clerics from Muslim communities in the state witnessed special Eid prayers for the state and the country at large.
