GOV OTTI SUSPENDS HEAD OF SERVICE, PERM SECS

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has directed the immediate suspension of the state Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Onyii Wamah and all Permanent Secretaries in the State civil service.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kazie Uko, says the suspension followed the inauguration of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the Recovery of Property and Funds belonging to the State Government.

According to the statement, the Governor approves the appointment of a Director in the Ministry of Education, Ms Joy Maduka as the Acting HOS.

The statement further explained that all Permanent Secretaries were suspended except the Clerk of the state House of Assembly, Mr. John Pedro-Iroakazi and the Solicitor Generalof the state, Mrs. Uzoamaka Uche-Ikonne.

The suspended Permanent Secretaries were directed to hand over to the most senior Director in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies with immediate effect.
