LG ELECTION: GOV UZODIMMA INAUGURATES NEW ISIEC

Imo State Government says it has concluded plans to conduct local government election before the November governorship election.

Governor Hope Uzodimma stated this when he swore-in the chairman and other 6 members of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) at the new Exco Chambers Government House, Owerri.

He enjoined them to work hard to satisfy the yearnings of people, who had waited long for the election.

The Governor noted that the high level of insecurity, killings and activities of unknown gunmen was as a result of the delayed election.

Responding, the newly inaugurated Chairman of ISIEC, Chief Charles Ejiogu, promised that his team would discharge their duty effectively for the benefit of all.

Other newly inaugurated members were Mr. Kenneth Igbo, Dr. Henry Adimelechi, Mrs. Jacinta Uchechukwu, Chief Charles Ohiri, Mr. Magnus Agu and Chief Dominic Uzowuru.
