GUNMEN ATTACK ANOTHER COMMUNITY IN EBONYI
AMECHI ODO –
Unknown gunmen have attacked Ebele Village in Umuogodo Akpu Mgbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
However, it is not certain whether there are casualties.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security, Mr. Stanley Okoroemegha, who spoke with Radio Nigeria explained that the attackers invaded the village situated at the boundary axis between Ebonyi and neighbouring Benue State and set houses ablaze.
He noted that both the police and soldiers had been deployed to the place to ascertain who the attackers were and to know whether lives were lost.
When contacted, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Garba Aliyu, did not confirm or deny the attack but emphasised that he was yet to get reports from police operatives that the command deployed to the area.
