EBONYI STATE GOVT TO IMPLEMENT COMMITTEE’S REPORT ON BOUNDARY DISPUTE BETWEEN AMANA & OHANKWU COMMUNITIES

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Ebonyi State Government says it will implement all the recommendations by a Peace Committee it set up to look into the lingering Amana and Ohankwu boundary dispute in Ikwo and Ezza South Local Government Areas.

This was one of the decisions reached at the state Executive Council meeting held at Government House Abakaliki.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor, who briefed newsmen, explained that the state government was impressed with the committee’s work and would act on its report.

He said the Council directed the Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ben Odo, to raise a white paper for the implementation of the recommendations.

Mr. Okpor explained that the Council also received a report on the renovation of Water works Low lift facility as well as the expansion and improvement on the volume of water supply to most areas in the capital city for up to four hours each day.

He, however, noted that the Ministry had not started 24hour water supply due to incessant cases of burst pipes but assured that the Ministry was working towards achieving that.
