CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF ASSURES OF IMPROVED SECURITY IN ANAMBRA

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, has vowed that the military will use all within its jurisdiction to fight insecurity in the country.
General Irabor stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Willie Obiano, at his country house Aguleri.
Speaking with journalists shortly after a closed door meeting with the Governor, General Irabor revealed that his visit was to exchange views and compare notes with the Governor over the unfolding scenario within the security Sector in Anambra State.
The General, who is the highest ranking military officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces, said the military would synergize with other security agencies to restore peace in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.
While warning criminals against indulging in criminal activities within Anambra and beyond, General Irabor assured the people that criminality would be dealt with all seriousness.
He warned criminals, especially cultists, kidnapers, to find a different space as security agencies would be coming after them.
Responding, Governor Willie Obiano revealed that General Irabor was in the state on the directive of President Mohammadu Buhari to help sort out the security challenges in the area.
The Governor hinted that they had mapped out a few measures and strategies to aid operations of securing the state and Nigeria in general.
He also warned criminals to have a change of heart or flee the state and the country in their interest.
