South-east Govs’ Forum Collaborates with Key Investors to Develop Infrastructure in the Zone

South-East Governors’ Forum says it is collaborating with foreign and local investors to develop infrastructure in the zone for world class industrial base.

The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Dave Umahi stated this in a message to the third South-East Nigeria’s Economic Summit in Enugu.

Governor Umahi represented by the Director-General of the Forum, Professor Simon Otuanya said the leaders were committed to firm infrastructure that would encourage investors and appealed to business men in the Zone,including those in the diaspora to think home by investing in the South-East Zone.

In a presentation, the Chairman, South-East Economic Development Commission, Professor Barth Nnajiexpressed the hope that the Zone would change for the best.

A former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi advised the people of the Zone to build a knowledge-based economy.

There were also paper presentations by notable persons from the Zone including the Chairman MTN Nigeria, Doctor Pascal Edozie a former Minister in the first Republic, Chief Mbazu like Amechi and a representative from Dubai Government.

The proposed investment projects were centered on railway network, gas pipeline, hospitals and construction of Enyimba Economic City Aba which the Forum said would be one of the best industrial parks in the world.

The theme of the summit is “South-East Nigeria: The Investment Destination’’.
