HEALTHCARE FACILITIES IN ENUGU RECEIVE EQUIPMENT FROM STATE GOVT

Enugu State Government has distributed hospital equipment worth millions of naira to primary healthcare facilities in the State in line with the new Health Sector Reform Law of the State Government.

Presenting the equipment to the three pilot facilities,which include Obollo Afor Health Centre, Abakpa Nike and Oji River Health Centres, the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Doctor Hillary Agbo said the programme was part of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s health care services to the people.

Dr. Agbo who also donated drugs and some hospital materials to the benefiting hospitals, warned against diverting the equipment for other use.

 Speaking on the new Health Sector Reform Law, Doctor Agbo said adequate training would be given to primary health care personnel across the State to make health facilities functional and efficient.

 In separate speeches, the Supervisor for Health,Udenu Local Government Area, Mrs. Ngozi Omiyi and her counterpart from Enugu East, Mr. Hillary Eze commended Governor Ugwuanyi for the huge investment in the health sector, describing the equipment as a boost to rural health care services.

 Some of the equipment distributed included health kits, hospital and delivery beds and stretchers.
