EBSIC SCHEDULES LG ELECTION IN JULY

Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) has announced July 20, 2024 as the date for the conduct of Local Government Election in the state.

Addressing political party Chairmen and other stakeholders in Abakaliki, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Jossy Eze, explained that the issuance of date of election was in pursuance to the provisions of constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the state Electoral Law 2017.

He called for active participation of all political parties in the state as the exercise would be free, fair and transparent.

He directed that the notice of election be published in all Local Government Headquarters and wards while nomination forms should be submitted to EBSIEC.

The Chairman of Inter party Advisory Council in the state, Mr. Ernest Nwaze, called for a transparent process, noting that IPAC would not tolerate irregularities during the exercise.
