SURPRISE: AS GOV UMAHI RETRIEVES MEDICAL BUILDING FROM FED TEACHING HOSPITAL

Ebonyi State Government has ordered the Management of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital to vacate the ultra modern Accident and Emergency Unit, it constructed and handed over to the Federal Government for quality medical services to accident victims.

Governor David Umahi announced the quit notice at an event in Abakaliki.

He noted that his administration was desirous of commencing the construction of a Teaching Hospital for the State University and had decided to recover the magnificent Accident and Emergency facility located in the premises of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital FETHA Two Abakaliki for the takeoff of the project.

It can be recalled that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo visited the State in 2020 to perform the inauguration of the Emergency Unit in company of some Board members of the Hospital.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Hospital management over the development failed.
