SECURITY AGENTS RECOVER STOLEN CEMENT LOADED TRAILER IN ANAMBRA

Police operatives attached to Area Command Headquarters, Ihiala, working with operatives of Anambra State Vigilante in Okija, has recovered a stolen trailer loaded with cement.

The HOWO trailer, with Registration number Delta AKU 247 XB, was allegedly conveying one thousand bags of Bua cement to unknown destination.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement said information available revealed that the truck was hijacked at a gunpoint by yet unidentified persons at Obiliokite in Delta State.

He said the armed criminals on sighting the joint patrol, comprising the Police and Vigilantes on the Onitsha-Owerri expressway, pulled off the road at Okija, abandoned the truck and fled.

The statement noted the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, had ordered a manhunt for the gunmen while calling on people within the area to help with any useful information that would help in apprehending the fleeing suspects.

In the statement, Mr. Adeoye assured members of the public that any information given in arresting the suspects would be treated with the confidentiality it deserved.
