Police in Ebonyi State have exhumed decomposing bodies of two young men whose names were given as Silas Nkwuda and Chukwuemeka Nwoba who were allegedly abducted and buried alive at Uduku Igbudu forest in Agubia Ikwo Local Government Area of the State.

Radio Nigeria gathered that seven suspects led by two native doctors were said to be behind the dastardly act and have been arrested by the police.

The two native doctors whose names were given as Nwali Nwankwo and Rose Godwin were said to have abducted the two young men on April 12, 2021 to pressure their relatives to withdraw a case in court involving their boys.

Investigations revealed that their boys were earlier arrested by the police over the missing of some members of the community who allegedly visited their shrine.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mrs. Loveth Odah, explained that preliminary investigations revealed that those who would have been buried alive by the native doctors were four but two managed to escape.

Mrs. Odah noted that when the remains of the victims were exhumed, their eyes were blind folded while ropes were tied to their necks, emphasising that autopsy had been conducted on them to ascertain how they were killed.

She said the Police command also arrested a twenty eight year old woman, Favour Oko, from Afikpo North Local Government Area who allegedly killed a three year old son of her co-wife because her husband no longer gave her attention since he married the mother of the boy.

Mrs. Oda said the suspects would be arraigned in court after investigations.
