POLICE ARREST THREE FOR TRICYCLE SNATCHING IN ANAMBRA

The Police Command in Anambra State says its operatives in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area, have intercepted an armed robbery gang that snatched a Tricycle from the owner in Agu-Awka, Awka South Local Government Area on Saturday night, (15/7/2023).

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, says the gang was smashed following information received from the Police in Awka that they were fleeing towards Anaocha L.G.A.

The Police team, who were on patrol with the local vigilance group, laid an ambush for the robbers and got them apprehended.

The statement says that one baretta pistol and one locally made chief revolver pistol, twelve rounds of life ammunition and one expended ammunition were recovered from the three-man gang.

It also notes that the tricycle has also been recovered.

According to the statement, the suspects arrested are Ebuka Madu (22years) from Umunze, Chinedu Godwin (23years) from Enugu State, and 18 year old Udegbunam Chikezie of Neni.

The statement indicates that the Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has assured members of the Public and residents of Anambra State that the confidence reposed in the Command for the maintenance of law and order as well as pursuit of justice shall not be taken for granted.

The Statement adds that the Commissioner has directed that the suspects be arraigned in court after a diligent investigation.
