POLICE ARREST COMMERCIAL CYCLIST FOR ALLEGED RAPE IN IMO

The Police in Imo State have arrested a commercial motorcycle operator for allegedly raping his passenger after forceful collection of her valuables.

Briefing journalists in Owerri, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Orlando Ikeokwu, said the suspect who is now cooling off in custody had been previously accused and arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his passenger without consent.

He said the Command also arrested a cult gang that had been terrorizing the people of Oguta in Oguta Local Government Area of state.

According to Mr. Ikeokwu, the gang is responsible for the recent cult clash that claimed one life and led to the burning of ten buildings in the area.

The Command further paraded one George Akanwa, who runs a motherless babies home, for allegedly obtaining the sum of one million naira from a woman through a false pretence that he would give her a baby for adoption.
