NAVY CHIEF VISITS ANAMBRA ON OPERATIONAL VISIT

The Nigerian Navy says it will not relent in fighting insecurity in the country.

Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu, gave the assurance when he paid a visit to Governor Willie Obiano at Governor’s Lodge, Onitsha.

The Chief of Naval Staff, who said that he was on an operational visit to the Naval Outpost, Onitsha, called on the naval officials to redouble their efforts to combat crime in the area.

He maintained that the Nigerian Navy would sustain the quality working relationship with other security agencies to restore peace following the directive of the President during the security chiefs Inauguration.

Rear Admiral Zubairu commended Governor Willie Obiano for supporting the Navy, especially during the recent unfortunate incident in some parts of the state.

He therefore pledged to continue to support government’s effort in securing Anambra State.

Responding, Governor Willie Obiano thanked Rear Admiral Zubairu for sending a special crack team to the state.

He commended the good works of the Navy within the state and applauded their prompt response to emergency situations.
