The Chairman Imo State Community Policing, Eze Emmanuel Okeke, has appealed to youths to desist from social vices capable of destroying their future.

He made the appeal while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Owerri on the recent security situation in Orlu Zone and other parts of the state.

Eze Okeke, who is also the Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional rulers, said the royal fathers, who are the chief security officers at the local level, were working hard with the local government chairmen and the state government to ensure the safety of lives and property.

He said engaging in kidnapping, robbery and assassination of human lives were not known to Igbo people.

Eze Emmanuel Okeke claimed that the recent security outburst in Orlu Zone was perpetuated by non indigenes of the area, stressing that Orlu is the industrial hub of the state.

He, however, appealed to all the parties concerned to sheath their sword and embrace peace for the development of the area.

The royal father called on youths to engage in meaningful ventures and join hands together in supporting the present administration to deliver on their campaign promises.
