HORROR AS GUNMEN BURN COUNCILLOR IN EBONYI COMMUNITY

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

The Security Consultant to Ebonyi State Government, Chief Stanley Okoroemegha, has called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the gruesome murder of a serving Councillor in Achara Ward in Okposi Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Okoroemegha, who is also the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, explained that the Councillor was shot at his shop in Okposi and subsequently burnt in his car while trying to drive to a nearby Hospital.

He alleged that the killing was politically motivated and called on the Police and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to look into rising cases of political assassinations being perpetrated by the opposition parties.

Chief Okoroemegha expressed the hope that security agents would rise above the challenge to checkmate the activities of armed men and make this week’s election peaceful.
