GUNMEN KILL COMMANDER’S WIFE IN EBONYI

Unknown gunmen have shot dead the wife of an Ebubeagu Commander, Mrs. Urenwa Kalu Chima, in Owutu Edda Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Chris Anyanwu, explained that the gunmen also set ablaze the house of the Ebubeagu Commander whose name was given as Oyeku Kalu Chima.

It noted that the identities of the perpetrators were yet to be ascertained but that the Commander alleged that the attack was carried out by one Okorie Ashango and his gang.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Aliyu Garba, has ordered immediate investigations on the matter to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The Commissioner also directed the operatives of the Command’s Tactical Team to take over proceedings in the area to fish out the perpetrators.
