GOV UZODIMMA PLEDGES TO RESOLVE COMMUNITY LAND CRISIS WITH FUTO

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to shealth their sword and resume academic activities.

He made the appeal when he received the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) at the Government House.

Governor Uzodimma, who called for concerted efforts to ensure that students were back to school, stated that education is the key to national development.

He said leaders had the responsibility to resolve the crises that stagnated education and support the institutions to maximize their objective.

The Governor, who spoke on the land issue between FUTO and the natives, said he had investigated the problem and it would be resolved amicably.

Earlier in a remark, the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of FUTO, Senator Jack Tilley-Gyado, stressed the need to end land crisis in FUTO to ensure security of lives and property.

Senator Tilley-Gyado urged the state government to end the crises and issue the institution the certificate of occupancy (C of O).

He thanked the Imo State Government under, Chief Hope Uzodimma for getting an approval for Federal Medical Center (FMC) Owerri as part of medicine and clinical training of FUTO.
