GOV OBIANO PLACES 20MILLION BOUNTY ON KILLERS OF DORA AKUYILI’S HUSBAND

Anambra State Government has pledged a cash  reward of twenty million Naira to  anyone with useful information leading to the arrest of those involved in the killing  of innocent citizens in the area.

Governor Willie Obiano made the pledge in a broadcast after a meeting at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia with Security Chiefs on the spate of violence in the state.

He condemned in totality, the attacks on citizens at Oko, Agulu, Obosi, Nkpor, Nnobi, Nnewi and other places, which had left about ten people dead, including an illustrious son of the State, Dr. Chike Akunyili, husband of late Prof Dora Akunyili who was reportedly gunned down around Nkpor.

The Governor directed all security agencies to step up and confront the monster ravaging the state, charging everyone involved in the security architecture to take it seriously.

He, however, called on youths, traditional rulers, presidents general, clergy men, vigilance groups among others to rise up and protect their communities.

Governor Obiano urged citizens to report anybody bearing firearm who is not a Security or Vigilante to security agents to help deal with the person or Call 07039194332.

The Governor warned  those promoting and participating in the violent attacks to leave the State or pay a high price, calling on all law abiding citizens and persons living in the State to go about their lawful businesses.

Governor Obiano encouraged the people to go go about their business as security had been tightened across the state to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

He expressed his condolences to families of those who  lost their loved ones in the unfortunate cycle of violence, assuring that his administration would do its utmost best to save the course of justice.

Chief Obiano also urged the Akunyili family and other affected families to accept his condolences and pray that God would give them the fortitude to bear their losses.
