GOV IKPEAZU PRESENTS 157.5BN BUDGET TO ASSEMBLY

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has presented the proposed 2023 budget estimate of #157, 517,000,000.00

Presenting the budget at the State House of Assembly, Governor Ikpeazu said of the amount, seventy-five billion naira representing 47% was for the recurrent expenditure while eighty-two billion naira representing 53% was for the capital expenditure.

Dr. Ikpeazu noted that the budget estimate represented an increase of 6.95% from the 2022 budget.

The Governor promised that his administration was committed towards the completion of some of the ongoing projects in state.

He commended the seventh Abia state House of Assembly for the numerous bills it had passed, citing the recent inclusion of female rights in the possession of family property and the disability right bill as some of the Assembly’s laudable achievements.

Receiving the proposed 2023 budget, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Chinedum Orji, thanked the.Governor for the presentation and assured him of speedy consideration and passage of the budget.

The theme of the 2023 proposed appropriation bill is “Validatory Economic Expansion and stability Budget.”
