EBONYI STATE GOVT TO BORROW #4 BN FOR HOUSING PROJECT

Ebonyi State Government seeks to borrow four billion Naira to construct 500 housing units in Uburu Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.

The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Uchenna Orji, announced this while briefing journalists on the outcome of this week’s state Executive Council meeting in Abakaliki.

Mr. Orji explained that the 500 housing units would be constructed close to David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The Estate when completed, is expected to solve the accommodation needs of the staff of the University and that of the Teaching Hospital located at the same site to ensure that they discharged their duties without hitches.

The Commissioner said the Council approved that the borrowing plan be transmitted to the state House of Assembly for approval.

He noted that the Council also ordered that a verification be carried out on the sale of shops at the International Market Abakaliki.
