FLOUT TRAFFIC RULES AND BE PROSECUTED— ANAMBRA SECTOR COMMANDER WARNS

No fewer than one thousand marshals of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been deployed for the ongoing Easter Special operation in Anambra State.

The state Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, who made this known to Radio Nigeria, said the operation was tagged: “Operation Zero Tolerance to Road Traffic Crashes.’’

Mr. Kumapayi explained that the deployment was made up of Regular Marshals and Special Marshals, stressing that the Command had already deployed vehicles, which included tow trucks, ambulances and patrol vehicles.

The FRSC boss in Anambra State said that special patrol operations would focus on over speeding, wrong overtaking, overloading violation, tyre violation and the use of cell phone while driving.

The FRSC Sector Commander also said that necessary logistics, including patrol vans, life support ambulances, heavy duty tow truck, had been provided to ensure desired impact on the entire stretch of highways in the state.

He, however, advised motorists travelling during the period of Easter Special Patrol, to exercise patience to save lives and property.

Mr. Kumapayi also warned motorists to desist from flouting traffic rules and regulations in order not to be prosecuted.

He implored motorists not to hesitate to call FRSC emergency numbers in case of any emergency.

Mr. Kumapayi added that the sector command would be working in synergy with other security agencies in the state to make the roads safe and secured for all users.
