JOINT SECURITY OPERATION SET UP TO GUARANTEE SECURITY IN ENUGU DURING EASTER—NSCDC BOSS

A joint security tasks force is now in place in Enugu State.

The tasks force comprising the Military, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other para-military organisations, was constituted for quick response to critical situations.

Giving more insight into the outfit, the Commandant, NSCDC, Enugu State Command, Mr. Valentine Ezenyimulu, said the establishment of the tasks force was to check the rising cases of insecurity in the area.

According to Ezenyimulu, the security agencies are in combine efforts to defeat elements that threaten the peace and security of the people.

He said the agencies were sharing plans and intelligence together and had committed personnel for effective operations.

“Here in Enugu, all the security agencies decided to create a joint security tasks force, the Military, Police, DSS, NSCDC, and rest of other para-military organizations.

“We came together and then created a front and contributed both vehicles and personnel that will be patrolling around and then sectorize it in such a way that at flash points within Enugu State that we will deploy officers who will respond quickly to critical situation that may arise.

“The officers and men that were deployed by all the agencies involved are located mostly in rural areas so that whenever a situation arises they can promptly attend to it instead of coming up to the headquarters in the urban and then start mobilising and going from here,time will be lost and damages would be encountered,” the NSCDC Commandant stated.

Mr. Ezenyimulu, felicitated with Christians as they commemorate Easter while assuring of adequate security during and after the celebration.
