EFFIUM KILLINGS: GOV UMAHI ORDERS ARREST OF TWO DEVELOPMENT CENTRE COORDINATORS

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has ordered the arrest of the Coordinators of Effuim Development Centre and his counterpart from Effium South as well as some stakeholders.
The order followed renewed killings and destructions of houses in clashes between the people of Effium and Ezza Efium in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
The Governor stated this at an expanded all stakeholders security meeting that took place at the Christian Ecumenical Centre Abakaliki.
Governor Umahi described the renewed violence in the area as uncalled for especially as the state government had worked tirelessly to restore peace in the last three weeks.
He noted that the two Coordinators from Effium had been removed from office while they would be charged alongside other stakeholders for murder.
Governor Umahi also expressed sadness over the abduction of some Enyigba Abakaliki children by miscreants from Enyibichiri Ikwo.
He noted that his government had demanded stakeholders from the area to unravel the identities of the abductors and the whereabouts of the children.
Governor Umahi reiterated his resolve to order security agencies to embark on mass arrest of Enyibichiri youths if they failed to inform government on the condition of the children after seven days.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the meeting, which later went into close door, was aimed at finding lasting solutions to some security breaches in the state.
