COVID-19: CELEBRATE THE YULETIDE WITH CAUTION — NOA IMO STATE DIRECTOR

Reporter : CHINAZO ILECHUKWU

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) wants traditional rulers and religious leaders in Imo State to support the fight against coronavirus disease by sensitizing their subjects to ways of minimizing the spread of the pandemic.

The State Director of the Agency, Mr. Vitus Ekeocha, made the appeal while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Owerri.

Mr. Ekeocha said the Agency had mobilized members of War Against Indiscipline (WAI) Brigade to complement the efforts of the NOA in sensitizing residents of the state to the need to maintain social distancing, use of face masks and constant washing of hands.

Mr. Ekeocha advised Christians to celebrate the end of year festivities with caution, noting that the surge in the spread of COVID-19 across the globe was disturbing.

The National Orientation Agency recently launched a campaign tagged “Celebrate Responsibly and Stay Safe” to raise awareness on the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic.
