CIVIL SERVANTS CHARGED ON DISCIPLINE AND CREATING AN ENDURING LEGACY IN SERVICE

Civil servants in Enugu State are duty-bound to bequeath a legacy to the service by creating an atmosphere  that enable government to bring to revive industries which employed thousands of people in the past.

The President-General of an Igbo socio-cultural organization, Chief NniaNwodo stated this in a paper presentation at this year’s Civil Service Week lecture in Enugu.

Chief Nwodo who was a two-time Federal Minister regretted that the industries and other government ventures decayed due to endemic corruption by some civil servants and politicians.

A guest lecturer, Dr. Sally Adukwu implored civil servants to uphold the virtues of discipline, impartiality and respect for hierarchy which he described as pillars of government service.

In a remark on the occasion, the Head of service in the state, Mr. ChidiEzema enjoined workers to recommit themselves to service to the people.

 The lecture featured an interactive session wherethe workers were had a chance to ask questions pertaining to their daily routines.
