REPORTER: UCHE NDEKE

The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the extension of tenure of Transition Committee Chairmen of the twenty one local government areas of the state for another three months.

This followed a letter sent in to the House by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and read on the floor by the Speaker, Mr. Uche Okafor during plenary.

The Speaker urged the Transition Committee Chairmen to use their offices to encourage the people to ensure they get their Permanent Voter’s Cards to enable them to participate in the upcoming general election.

In a remark, one of the newly confirmed Chairmen, Mr. Livinus Onyenwe, thanked the lawmakers for their magnanimity and promised to contribute towards the overall development of the state.

The House later adjourned sine die (indefinitely) to enable lawmakers to take part in the general election.
