ABA GROUNDED OVER SIT AT HOME FEAR
Reporter : JOSHUA OBIALO
Socio-economic activities in Aba have again been crippled following the closure of markets and restriction of vehicular movement not withstanding the suspension of another Monday sit-at-home order by the Indigenous people of Biafra (IP0B).
Our correspondent who monitored the situation round the city reports that the residents sat at home, street- shops were locked and roads deserted.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria, a resident, Mr. Francis Uche, said he trekked from Osisioma Junction to his residence at Niger Stone, covering a distance of more than five kilometers due to lack of vehicles on road.
The situation was the same for another resident, Mr. Chima Ohabazu, who was seen trekking from Ariaria Junction to Ala-Ojii flyover, more than a four-kilometer distance.
Radio Nigeria observed that was heavy presence of security personnel on major roads in the city, and people clustered in groups discussing the development. Children were also seen playing football in the empty streets.
