3 PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN ENUGU

The Enugu State Government has approved the construction of Pedestrian bridges in three areas in the State. This formed part of the decisions of the first Executive Council meeting held at government house, Enugu. Briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Greg Nnaji reeled out the location of the three bridges to include, Holy ghost around Ogbete Main Market axis, Mayor bus stop and Gariki ,Awkunanaw.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chidi Aroh said the council approved additional purchase of two hundred and sixty Pick-up Vans to be installed with modern technologies to enhance the capability of all security agencies in all the wards of the State to make them adaptable to any situation. Mr. Aroh further noted that Very High Frequency,  VHF, and Ultra High Frequency UHF, radio communication equipment were already been installed in the previous one hundred vehicles earlier supplied to the base for the coordination of the technology to be situated at Government house.

The Information Commissioner also hinted that the council approved the purchase of eighteen automated drones to be deployed in various forests of the State to checkmate criminal activities. Meanwhile, the council also set up a five man Inter-ministerial committee to look into the alleged report of wrong placement of children in the Family Support Programme, FSP between May 28 and August 30, 2019 to be headed by the Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Miletus Eze.

The State Council further approved a salary scale of thirty thousand naira monthly for the one thousand, seven hundred forest guards recruited in the State and an increase in allowance for the Neighborhood watch from twenty-thousand naira to twenty-five thousand naira with immediate effect.
