SUSPECTED HUMAN TRAFFICKER MEETS HER WATERLOO IN ANAMBRA STATE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Anambra State has arrested a suspected Human Trafficker in the State. In a statement the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Rajunor Egbe disclosed that the suspect was arrested following intelligence report at Unizik Junction Awka.

Mr. Egbe said the suspect, Mrs Grace Etiefon aged 42, who hails from Akwa Ibom State was apprehended by men of the Corps when she was about sending the victim,  Miss Njideka Akinpelu, aged 30 to Lagos for onward movement to Libya for prostitution. She explained that the victim who hails from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, said that she was a petty trader at Unizik junction where the suspect arranged with her to be taken to Libya for a better life.

The PRO however stated that the Corps would not hesitate to deal with such syndicates, if caught and advised members of the public to desist from such evil act. Mr. Egbe further announced that the suspect would be handed over to NAPTIP for more investigations and prosecution.
