ADOPT SPIRIT OF SPORTSMANSHIP IN POLITICS: METHODIST ARCHBISHOP TELLS POLITICIANS

Political aspirants and those in leadership positions are advised to play politics with caution and spirit of sportsmanship.

The Archbishop, Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Enugu, the Most Reverend Christopher Edeh gave the advice in an Ash Wednesday message, at Wesley Cathedral Church, Uwani Enugu.

Archbishop Edeh explained that the forthcoming election was very significant as it was taking place in Lenten season.

He called on Nigerians especially youths to shun evil, such as electoral violence and acts capable of truncating the existing peace in the country.

In a sermon titled ‘’Best way to pray to receive answers’’, the Diocesan Minister for Evangelism, Very Rev Innocent Nweke enumerates them to include waiting upon God, trusting him, and forgiving one another.

Some of the worshippers Mr. David Echem and Mrs. Jacinta Njoku expressed determination to seek God the more this Lenten season.

Our Correspondent reports that the service featured prayers and Holy Communion.
