ENUGU HOSTS NIGERIA MINING AND GEOSCIENCES SOCIETY ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

The Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society, NMGS, says no country can sustain its economy without industrialization.

The President of the Geosciences Society, Professor Silas Dada, made the comment while briefing newsmen on their upcoming 55 Annual International Conference and Exhibitions in Enugu.

Professor Dada who noted that at present the economy of the nation was based on mineral resources, oil and gas underscored the need for emphasis to be shifted to the industrialization of the country.

According to Professor Dada, the 55th Annual International Conference and Exhibitions of the Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society is scheduled to hold between March 17 and 22 at Golden Royale Hotel, Enugu.

Speaking on the theme of the conference “Maximizing Mineral and Energy Resources for Industrialization,” Professor Gbenga Okunlola noted that time had come for the country to seek alternative to the main-stay of the economy which remained oil and gas.

The conference which will open on the March 17 with arrival and registration of members and guests will feature exhibitions, keynote lecture, field trip to parts of Enugu and Ebonyi States.
