ALMAJIRI NOT WELCOME IN EBONYI STATE — GOV UMAHI

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State says Almajiri are not welcomed in the state as their coming will not encourage social distancing to prevent coronvirus.

Speaking in Abakaliki, Chief Umahi commended Northern Governors Forum for endorsing that every Almajiri be returned to their state of origin and described threats of open confrontation with people of South East for refusing to grant entry to Almajiri as provoking.

The Governor noted that the South East zone was known for its love for people from other ethnic nationalities but would not be intimidated to expose their zone to the ravaging Coronavirus.

Chief Umahi also banned movement of cattle around Centenary City, emphasising that it was embarrassing that he struggled with cows to enter his office.
