RBNP CANDIDATE DEMANDS LEVEL PLAYING GROUND FROM INEC IN 2019 ELECTIONS

A Chieftain of the Re-Build Nigeria Party (RBNP), Mr. Johnson Ozoememna Ozo, says the amendment of Electoral Act when passed by the National Assembly and signed by the President will increase people’s participation in politics and block all the loop holes that could lead to electoral mal-practice.

Mr. Ozo, who is the House of Representatives candidate of the partly for Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election, maintained that transmitting results electronically would go a long way to sustain the confidence of the people in INEC.

“The Act has done a very, very wonderful work by plugging some of the loopholes the big parties and the big players in the political field use in defrauding the people; that is electoral malpractice, rigging and all the rest of them. So it is a very big plus in the Nigerian political system,” he said.

Mr. Ozo advised INEC to provide a level playing ground for all, to enable people vote for the candidate of their choice.

According to the RBNP aspiring lawmaker, “our cardinal objective is to return power to the people instead of money politics. We are now talking about people oriented politics, where people choose who they want to represent them and not where money chooses who to represent them. But I won’t stay in Abuja without calling any town hall meeting, without interfacing with the people I am representing”

Mr.Ozo noted that Re-Build Nigeria Party RBNP is committed to the socio-political and economic development of the nation.

While condemning the vote buying syndrome, the RBNP chieftain advised people not to sell their conscience to “Money Bags” to avoid jeopardizing the future of the country.
