OWELLE ROCHAS OKOROCHA FORMALLY HANDS OVER TO GOV. EMEKA IHEDIOHA

The immediate past Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has formally handed over the affairs of the State to the new administration of Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

The exercise which took place at the office of the Secretary to the State Government on Thursday in Owerri, came eight days after Governor Ihedioha assumed mantle of leadership in the State.

Performing the ceremony on behalf of Chief Okorocha, the immediate past Principal Secretary, Government House,Mr. EmekaDuru said the exercise followed the directive from Governor Ihedioha that handing over formalities be concluded within forty eight hours from Monday this week.

The Secretary to the State Government, Chief Uche Onyeagucha who received the document on behalf of the government said the administration of Governor Emeka Ihedioha would study the papers and make the contents known to the public.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Ihedioha, Chief Chris Okewulonu regretted that the ceremony ought to have taken place before May twenty nine to enable the present government raise concerns where necessary.

The ceremony puts to rest the controversy on whether the last administration actually handed over affairs of the State to the new government.
