IMO STATE DEPUTY SPEAKER RESIGNS

The Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Ugonna Ozuruigbo has resigned his position with immediate effect.
In a letter addressed to the embattled Speaker, Chief Iheanacho Ihim which was made available to Newsmen, Chief Ozuruigbo said he decided to step aside to enable him to focus on his new responsibility as an incoming House of Representatives member for his constituency.
Chief Ozuruigbo said considering his role in the game of choosing a new leadership of the 9th Assembly in the green chambers, it had become difficult for him to discharge his duties as the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly.
He said his resignation was of the best interest of the house, Imo State and the entire South East .
Chief Ozuruigbo expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their support over the period he held sway as Deputy Speaker.
The Deputy Speaker’s resignation came shortly after his colleagues passed vote of no confidence on the leadership of the Assembly.
