ENUGU STATE APC SUSPENDS ITS CHAIRMAN

Enugu mapThe All Progressives Congress APC, Enugu State says it has suspended its Chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye for alleged financial misappropriation and other anti-party activities. This was part of the resolution taken by the State Working Committee at the party secretariat in Enugu.

The action followed a motion moved by the party Youth Leader, Prince Ikechukwu Olofo. Prince Olofo speaks further on the suspension.

He misappropriates fund, acts as a one man show and abuses the office and he is hereby suspended.”

 The Deputy Chairman of the party, Mr Adolphus Ude is now the Acting Chairman of the party in the state. Mr Ude appealed to members of the party to be calm and work for unity. He stated further on the decision of the committee.

“The suspended Chairman should handover all documents to the Acting Chairman within 24hours.That an accelerated effort should be made to reconcile all members to review the position of the suspended member.”

Reacting to the development the suspended Chairman of the party, Mr Ben Nwoye in a telephone interview described the act as unlawful.

“I refer you to APC Constitution, section 22 Article 21, it spelt out how one is suspended.”

 Dr Nwoye attributed the development to act of desperation by some disgruntled members of the party.
